Blade Runner 2049 has only been out for a handful of days, but there has already been tons of praise for the film. I'm going to start this review out by saying I am in no way a Villeneuve fanboy (Arrival was on eof 2016's most overrated films IMO ) but I loved Blade Runner 2049. Like LOVED it. After this and Arrival Villeneuve will certainly go down as a wizard of sci-fi storytelling. Yes, this film is visually gorgeous. Yes, it expands the universe of the first film. Yes, it is totally immersive. Yes, the run-time flies by. Everything you've heard is true. What people aren't saying is that Blade Runner 2049 is not a deep, philisophical film. It is a very plot-driven movie. It's about the story, not about the ideology behind the story. In other words it's an action movie. Sure there is some discussion about humanity and exostence, but in reality 2049 is kind of this year's Mad Max: Fury Road. Except I didn't like Fury Road and I loved Blade Runner. I have thought about it a lot, and I'm still not sure why I fell head over heels for this movie. It's basically really well-made fan fiction of the original. But there is something so authetic and so urgent about 2049 that totally sucked me in. Also there is a fight scene in a Vegas night club that is the best scene of 2017 so far. Ryan Gosling absolutely killed it. He is one of the greatest actors we have, and he does things here that are totally mind-blowing. I'm convinced the man can do no wrong. Blade Runner 2049 opened up my mind in a way that's hard to describe. It spoke directly to me, as if etching its beautiful images on my skull. I love this movie and am not afraid to call it a masterpiece. Also the story has enough loose ends to necessitate a sequel and I'm not even mad about it.
#HeresMyMovieReview of @MeganLeaveyMovie : Why see🔎: A fresh perspective on military bomb detection through a K9 and his handler. Why 🙈: However, at its core, it's just another sappy "dog" movie which isn't necessarily a bad thing...unless you're a cat person. Hmm🤔: German Shepherds for the win! I now want one. So, I give it 3 out of 5 explosive red flagged areas. #meganleavey #rex #movies #moviereview #moviereviews #cinema #cinephile #films #movieoftheday #Photography #photos #fotos #pics #pohtooftheday #movie Viewed on #amazonprime

American Made ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quite unexpected in terms of thematic direction. Approaching the conflict in the south with a comedic air. Tom Cruise is wonderful bringing forth charismatic vibrant character. Less action than you’d expect, but nonetheless entertaining all it’s own. #americanmade #moviecritic #moviereview #thrillermovie

House On Haunted Hill, is a 1999 American horror film directed by William Malone with a screenplay by Dick Beebe based on a story by Robb White, it is a remake of the 1959 film House on Haunted Hill. An amusement park mogul offers a group of diverse people $1,000,000 to spend the night in a haunted house with a horrifying past. Not the greatest special effects and I’m sure it doesn’t compare with the original but I have a lot of fun watching this. It’s a good haunted house story, one I enjoy past 1 viewing so I’m going to give it 🎃🎃🎃🎃 4/5. . . #HouseOnHauntedHill #31DaysOfHalloween #31DaysOfHorror #AtoZofHalloween #Horror #Halloween #Movie #Film #Review #MovieReview #FilmReview #MovieCritic #FilmCritic #Cinephile #CinephileCommunity #InstaMovie #InstaFilm #InstaReview #MovieEnthusiast #MovieLover #MovieAddict #MovieGeek #MovieBuff #TheMovieOracle

My review for "The foreigner": not your typical Jackie chan movie but more of a political thriller, both Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan equally share screen time and both have their own story going on, a revenge story as well as a web of crime and corruption is why this film is about, Jackie Chan's acting ability really shines through since we don't see Chan smiling or having a good time but a father who has lost everything and therefore has nothing to lose which make him dangerous, the action and fight scenes are well done taking Chan back to his roots and what made him such a great action star also they do play his age letting people know he's not the same young man that he once was but he can still handle himself as well as the action scenes, there is a lot of story here mainly because there two to 3 other plot goin on at the same time which drags the film down a bit and really while it may be interesting in the end you don't really care about what's going on other than Chan getting his revenge, overall a good film I give this a 6.5 out of 10 #theforeigner , #movie , #review , #moviereview , #action , #thriller , #politicalthriller , #jackiechan , #asskicking , #actionpacked , #martialarts

This movie will knock the wind out of you...twice!!! It's Home Alone meets The Crush. Netflix is pulverizing it and movie theaters must be feeling the impact. When unpopular 12 year old Cole is the last of The Monsters Club innocent dweebs his babysitter Bee will defend him because they have a nerdy bond. He's chicken shit of everything until Bee gives him a night he will remember for the rest of his life. Awesome soundtrack. Kick-ass gory death scenes. Vintage nostalgic feel of 80s horror. I'm almost dying for a sequel : ) #thebabysitter #comedy #horror #netflix #gory #lesbian #kiss #moviereview #cantbeartolivewithoutitmoviereview @kls119 @marrero_frances @lovely_128 @juko1119 @theericbutts @ryeseronie @steel john I highly recommend this one
14th film: The Covenant 🕂💨🕷 • @sayhello2mariah It's been awhile since I've seen this film. I remember watching this as a teen and crushing on all the boys. This film is definitely silly! There's some outdated cgi, gratuitous ab shots, and a thin plot. But, it's a pretty fun movie if you're looking for something that's not very serious and has some good eye candy. 6/10 • @humilau Before there was Twilight, we had this cinematic masterpiece. Silly one-liners, gratuitous fan service, a killer soundtrack and that sweet 2006 CGI make this a real gem. There might have been a plot also. 6/10

THE HAPPENING - MOVIE REVIEW - “You know hot dogs get a bad rap? They got a cool shape, they got protein. You like hot dogs right? By the way, I think I know what's causing this.” - This is sad. This is really sad. What happened to M. Night Shyamalan’s career is utter travesty. He was riding high on a wave of critical and commercial success with his first three movies but that wave died faster than you can say despacito. I would love to have been a fly on the wall for the production of this movie just so I can see one of the biggest falls from grace in Hollywood history. The Happening is a movie about... a thing... that happens. It follows a science teacher played by Mark Wahlberg, his wife played by Zooey Deschanel and his best friend played by John Leguizamo as well as his daughter as they must attempt to flee from an inexplicable event that is causing a lot of people to randomly kill themselves. It’s initially considered to be caused by bio-terrorist attack using an airborne neurotoxin, but nope, it’s the plants. The plants are releasing a chemical that causes people to kill themselves and it’s all stupid because this movie is just the fucking worst. If I were M. Night Shyamalan, I’d probably change the name of this movie from The Happening to What the Fuck Is Happening?? This is a weird movie, it is honest to God one of the weirdest movies ever made and I don’t know exactly how to feel about it. This movie isn’t so much a What the Fuck? like Lady In the Water, it’s more of a Why the Fuck? or How the Fuck? As in why the fuck is this like this? How the fuck was this able to be released in theaters? I’d be ashamed to even release this on video because it’s just that bad. This movie is horrendous on every level and there’s no one to blame but Shyamalan. He’s written, directed and produced all of his movie so he must’ve been confident that what he was doing this movie was good, but any sane person would realize that this shit is bad. It’s evident in the acting. Everyone’s made fun of the fact that Mark Wahlberg is playing a science teacher in such an unbelievable way, but Shyamalan wrote this movie with Mark Wahlberg in mind for the lead role. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
(I edited this poorly ) Borderlands is easily my favorite game series, I've spent at least 100 hours in the main story and main four dlcs and added more to that time when I got the handsome collection and got even more dlc, the game in the series I'll talk about is the second one. The story is a masterpiece with good and funny writing, you play as one of 6 vault hunters that come to pandora to find an ancient alien vault which can be home to almost anything, weapons, monsters, fortune, hot babes.. But when you come to Pandora hired by handsome Jack he turns on you attempting to kill you and leaving you to Die. Then you learn that he is a horrible dictator trying to destroy the planet with the vault. Now imagine a first person shooter with an RPG engine that makes it really charming. I could go on and on about it but I have a character limit so I'll keep it here, but if you want an amazing game series I'd look into this, 5/5 would play again -💀💀 #reviews #animereview #moviereview #gamingreview #borderlands #borderlands2 #borderlandsthepresequal #talesfromtheborderlands #norfleet #slag

RED SPARROW (2018 ) Menjadi kolaborasi kali ketiganya antara sang sineas, Francis Lawrence bersama Jennifer Lawrence setelah The Hunger Games Series dan The Dive.

Well only movie I was able to check out this weekend and it was #marshall which is about a high profile court case that really put Thurgood Marshall and Sam Friedman on the map. This movie stars #chadwickboseman , @joshgad , #katehudson ,and #sterlingkbrown I have to give this movie #twothumbsup Now even though it may not win the box office this weekend this is still a must see movie. This may not be the first biopic of Mr. Marshall but they did a great job in showing the time period and the racial tensions that was around right before the United States entered World War II. Josh Gad was a great asset to this movie and was a perfect screen partner to Chadwick. I will say that I wasnt crazy about the women who played Marshalls wife . They just didn’t feel believable and lacked chemistry. Also I wasn’t crazy about how fast the beginning scenes were it felt rushed and a little forced. However it was still a good movie and I definitely recommend it. Next movie this week will probably be #MedeaBoo along with a few others. And I will post my #AmericanMade review tomorrow for you all as well. #movie #moviefan #movieset #movieday #movienight #moviereview #movieposter #moviepopcorn #movietheater
🎞 Film Review: "Battle of the Sexes (2017 )" • Directors: Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris • Writer: Simon Beaufoy . • Cast: Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Andrea Riseborough, Sarah Silverman, Bill Pullman, Alan Cumming, Elisabeth Shue • Genre: Drama / Comedy / Biography / Sport #FoxSearchlightPictures - No matter how times are tough these days, I'm just happy to see that people continue to fight for equality, and it's also great to see that carry on in films. "Battle of the Sexes" is the true story that took place in 1973 and is about how tennis champion Billie Jean King (Emma Stone ) is challenged to a match by ex-champion Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell ), as she fights for women's rights and deals were her sexuality. Now this is a movie that I didn't expect to like as much, but I thought this was surprisingly a pretty good film! This film is another great representation of how hard women fought for their equality because throughout the film we see a lot of men putting down King, and the other female players. The film does a great job of making you care for King, and you really feel her struggle and you want to root for her to prove everyone wrong! And that's due to Emma Stone's incredible performance as Billie Jean King! Carell also did a great job playing Bobby Riggs, and he played that charming, but untrustworthy character very well! Also another surprisingly good performance in the film was Sarah Silverman! I also loved the way this film was shot, because this is one of the rare movies that takes place in the 70's that feels like it was made in the 70's! And that's also due to it's great directing from Dayton and Faris who also directed one of my favorites "Little Miss Sunshine (2006 )." My only big issues with the film is that there are certain scenes that overstay it's welcome that increased the film's length! But overall, I surprisingly enjoyed this film! It's definitely an uplifting film about women empowerment, and it's done very maturely. 👍 (8.2/10 ) (B+ ) - MichaelAngelo #BattleOfTheSexes #BillieJeanKing #BobbyRiggs #EmmaStone #SteveCarrell #JonathanDayton #ValerieFarris #films #movies #cinema #truestory #tennis #Biopic #sports #MovieReview #history #womensrights

Dang, Adam Wingard can do no wrong thus far in my #90for90. Entry 61, The Guest. So much throwback 80s horror thriller pulp. Wingard seems to make sure you're having the time of your life with his flicks. Sure they're haunting or scary at times, but if you forget you're watching a horror film he's doing his job well. Loved every bit of this flick, not shocked it's at 89% on RT. I'm giving it a hearty 9/10.

Before remakes were as common as a cold (I have a cold and I'm not funny ), occasionally attempts were made to remake classics and everyone would lose their shit if a big budgeted remake of NotLD was attempted, but I don't remember there being much of a stink about this one. For starters, Romero executive produced the picture with his good buddy and special effects guru Tom Savin directing, who apparently was unsure of his directing skills that he shot the movie in order. It remains the same story, hits the same plot points, but it's updated in the right way. Barbara is now more than a helpless victim, she actually regains control of her fear and becomes the protagonist at the point where Ben seems to be losing control. The film has a stellar cast, including a cameo by Bill Moseley in the role of Johnny and he owns the time he's on screen. The cast plays their parts perfectly, my favorite being the late Tom Towles as Mr. Cooper, who's just the perfect asshole. You wanna punch the guy, but he was right all along; if they had went into the basement, the hunters would have found them in the morning and they would have survived the night, but he and Ben had to get into a pissing match. The tension between people or races and even the rise of feminism is present in the film's commentary much like the original spoke to its own Era. The makeup is now more traditional zombie and there's more gore (the best of which was cut ) and everything looks really amazing. The film is a little better paced than the original and I liked Barbara even more in this one and even Tony Todd as Ben was really great. It's one of those rare cases where I like the remake as much as the original. #nowwatching #nowplaying #nightofthelivingdead #tomsavini #georgeromero #tonytodd #patriciatallman #tomtowles #21stcenturyfilmcorporation #columbiapictures #horror #horrormovie #horrorfilm #90shorror #zombies #remake #dvd #dvdreview #moviereview #moviecritic #filmreview #filmcritic #cinephile #1990 #goonreviewsnightofthelivingdeadremake
Title: Moonrise Kingdom Director: Wes Anderson My rating: 10/10 Rotten Tomato review: 93% Cast: Jared Gilman, Kara Hayward, Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and a bunch of cute kids in the Khaki Scout troop. My first post on this account absolutely had to be about my favorite movie of all time; Moonrise Kingdom. Taking place in 1965 on the fictional, charming island of New Penzance, Moonrise Kingdom follows the story of two 12-year-olds, Sam and Suzy who fall in love and make a plan to run away together into the New England wilderness. The island is turned upside down as the authorities as well as other local characters try to track these lovebirds down. My favorite director and perhaps the most visionary, imaginative one at that, Wes Anderson truly created a cinematic masterpiece. The color palette alone is enough to draw you in, but along with the kick ass cast and the eccentric oddballs they portray this movie is borderline over the top when it comes to charm and quirkiness. I mean, when else will you see Edward Norton being all cute in a khaki uniform or Brice Willis in an undershirt cooking weenies in an RV? And Tilda Swinton in a royal blue suit with matching hat?! I mean come on. Long spiel short, just fucking watch this movie. You’ll love it. #movies #moviereview #moonrisekingdom #wesanderson #film #filmreview #cinema #review #favoritemovie #independentfilms #independentfilm #billmurray #brucewillis #jaredgilman #karahayward #edwardnorton #cinematography #bluraycollection #bluray

THIR13EN GHOSTS is a very dull film. Poor writing and directing, average acting, and a lackluster story make this a bore. My expectations were low going in, but I was still disappointed. The runtime is 90 minutes, but it feels much haha longer. I considered turning it off three or four times but decided to stick with it. I guess I made the wrong choice. Grade: F
Wes Craven’s New Nightmare Review: My Return to Late Night Reviews starts with Wes Craven’s return to the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Marking a massive spike in quality, but unfortunately it had the lowest total box office gross of the series. Decades later though, it remains one of the most creative, brilliant, and impressive comebacks in horror history. First up is the cast. Heather Langenkamp returns as herself in a powerhouse role. She plays someone trying to escape former fame, but at the same time she is also dealing with a young child and a massive loss. The emotions are high and there couldn’t have been a stronger actress for the role. The supporting cast is just as phenomenal. They all give surreal performances as mostly themselves. Robert Englund and Wes Craven even have central roles. It creates a break in reality through films Wes Craven is known for with movies like the original Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream. However, here it goes as far as it can get, blending horror, reality, and the movie in a way that becomes hard to distinguished at times. Robert Englund makes a triumphant return to the role of Krueger in a darker return to the character. He’s more satanic, sadistic, and genuinely scary than he’d been in decades. The plot is as praise worthy. It mixes what we know was truth with what we know as fantasy to make an impressive story of pain and horror. The effects are top notch, the story is as creative and original as the original, and the development and handling of the series is as respectful as you would expect from its creator. Overall Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is a fitting end to the original series, a much better end than most of the iconic horror series were met with. The spot on performances and darker tone lead to a scary, impressive, and unforgettable horror experience. 9.4/10 #movie #movies #moviereview #moviereviews #wescraven #wescravensnewnightmare #horror #freddykrueger #fredkrueger #latenight #latenightmovie #latenightwatching #end #weekend #week #friday #slasher #michaelmyers #jasonvoorhees #leatherface
BLADE RUNNER 2049 (2017 ) 7/10 This movie is slow. Doesn't make me boring but I won't say I love it either. About the story, I got the main idea but still doesn't catch the details behind it. Unlike Arrival (2016 ) where towards the ending there are a big twist that are revealed and I started to understand the big picture. The plus point of this movie is the cinematography, the special effects, the setting (it reminds me of the Ghost in The Shell but with more simple and less colorful version ) and the sound (probably it was what makes me stay awake ). Overall, I still enjoy watching this.. This movie somehow manage to keep me engaged instead of the slow progress but I don't think it will make into my favorite list. #renreview #renmoviereview #movie #film #moviereview #moviereviews #filmbioskop #filmreview #reviewfilm #cgvid #cinemaxxi #cinema21 #bladerunner #bladerunner2049 #bladerunner2049review #ryangosling #harrisonford #sylviahoeks #mackenziedavis #jaredleto #davebautista #anadearmas #robinwright
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975 ) QUOTE: “Damn it, Janet!” When thinking about this and while watching this all I can think of is What the fuck. My opinion on this film just makes the cutting point for liking it, so I can’t really shit talk it, but I’m going to say why I may not like The Rocky Horror Picture Show as much as everyone else does, then follow with why I consider it at least good. This is one of the strangest movies I’ve seen. The first time I watched this I didn’t know what to think. Did I hate it or love it? I feel like that’s my opinion every watch. It’s strange because I was so close to being Dr. Frank-N-Furter for Halloween last year (when I first watched it ) but my Mom said otherwise. I do like this film, don’t get me wrong, but it’s a little too much to really handle for me to consider it a masterpiece. There are a lot of times that drag and kind of bore me, all while making me think “people are still watching this?” Yet I still somehow like it. The first half is obviously superior to the second half because it trails off and sort of loses it all. I like the music, although some songs don’t really make too much sense to me. For modern day this film is WTF, but I can’t imagine what the average everyday person thought of when they say this over forty years back. It’s just so strange that it actually works, though. I’m so back and forth on this review because I can’t even comprehend what I watched and how to really break it down. I’ll lay it down right here: Tim Curry is great, it’s a risky idea for a movie that works, it’s enjoyable for the half of it, there’s good makeup and costumes, there’s catchy music, and it’s trippy as fuck. That’s it. In my opinion, if a person hates this movie, you can’t yell at them for it. Same thing if a person loves it. It’s just a film that not everyone’s going to like and it’s totally understandable. It’s definitely worth a watch at least once and if you don’t like it, that’s it. What’s the worst that can happen? 6/10.
The House of the Devil, a 2009 American horror film directed, written and edited by Ti West. In 1983, financially struggling college student Samantha Hughes takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret, putting her life in mortal danger. I’m somewhere between liking this and not liking this, mostly not liking this. I enjoy the way it was filmed, I enjoy the style, but if you’re going to give me a 1hour and 30 minute movie and don’t get to the point of the movie until after 1hour and 10minutes (I watched the timer ) then I’m out. For over an hour one thing happened and it was over so fast it felt like nothing happened, so essentially for over an hour it is just this girl wandering around a house doing absolutely fuck all. There is no story being told, which even with the ending events there should be some kind of a storyline and I don’t feel there is one, it’s just a few events put together into the length of a film. I don’t feel the opening written narrative and the final scene relate to each other in anyway as the opening statement is meant to be a “fact” or based on fact and the end scene is a work of fiction so that opening writing shouldn’t be there. As there is nothing that leads into the final scene, it just happens and we don’t know why, the film barely explains it but we manage to figure it out and because of these things it just seems so underwhelming and not worth the wait. I ultimately found this film to be incredibly dull and I have too many issues with the closing events so I’m going to give this🎃 1.5/5. . . #TheHouseOfTheDevil #31DaysOfHalloween #31DaysOfHorror #AtoZofHalloween #Horror #Halloween #Movie #Film #Review #MovieReview #FilmReview #MovieCritic #FilmCritic #Cinephile #CinephileCommunity #InstaMovie #InstaFilm #InstaReview #MovieEnthusiast #MovieLover #MovieAddict #MovieGeek #MovieBuff #TheMovieOracle

TV Review of~Defenders🎭 --- My Opinionated Grade 72% My Critical Grade 71% Rotten Tomatoes 74% Genre~Action/Drama Rated~TV-14 Cast/Acting B- Editing B- Visuals B- Script C- Pacing C+ Score C Best Quote ( )~N/A 1-10 Re-watch ability?~4.5 --- Background?~Four of Marvel's biggest heroes are each working individually but have one common goal in mind -- to save New York City. Burdened with their own personal challenges, Matt Murdock (Daredevil ), Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Danny Rand (Iron Fist ) realize that they likely won't be able to accomplish their goals working solo. That realization leads them to team up and form The Defenders, a supergroup that is more equipped to save the Big Apple than the heroes would be if they continued to work on their own --- My Opinion~The Defenders is an average TV show, plain and simple. The show doesn't attack anything new or take any true risks, it's very straightforward. The acting isn't particularly great and the character Iron Fist, doesn't truly mesh well with the Defenders. I truly believe that without the inclusion of Iron Fist the Defenders show could have been very good. Iron Fist's inclusion also sparked the big controversy within the show. The controversy did not intertwine well with and seemed like a very subpar/bad idea. Overall, The Defenders, besides Iron Fist, developed very well chemistry together and built their overall story from the ground up, with proper pacing, but the inclusion of Iron Fist depletes the show immensely holding it back from its true potential --- #Background information from Moviefone.com #Film #Movies #MovieReview #Review #Defenders
Monday Movie Review shhh'IT'... Now what you should do if you don't like scary clowns is go to Dr Google and look up Bill Skarsgard and all you have to do when confronted with Pennywise is just think ' ha, it's only Bill Skarsgard in makeup' So instead of shitting yourself completely only a little fart will come out.. Classic Stephen King remake with all the creepy tricks in the book used to full effect. The quintessential group of younguns including the fat one, the smart arse and the clever one with a girl thrown in to this great little group of heroes. Along with the older nasty bastard bullies who you hope will get what they deserve down the track. Add to that the creepy parents and you've got 2 hours of holy shit and how am I going to sleep tonight. Such fun.. I couldn't get anyone to go with me so I had to sit there and hold my own frigging hand. The special effects are terrific and Pennywise the sewer dwelling dancing clown who preys on peoples fear will forever be the penultimate scary clown.. think (Bill Skarsgard think Bill Skarsgard. ) I read the book thirty years ago and saw the original film over 20 years ago but still got a few nasty surprises even though I had a good idea of where we were headed. Good classic old scary fun I wouldn't take your 5 year old.. or maybe you would if he was a little shit..4 schooners from me. #it #clowns #scary #thriller #classic #cinemaparadiso #cinematography #cinema #horror #remake #stephenking #book #movies #moviereview #reviews #loveit #schooners #ratings
This movie was supposed to be so much more than it is. It was supposed to be #KevinSmith Stepping into the 2nd phase of his Career coming off the Swan Song Clerks 2 ending a idolized vision of a completed next generation John Huges. He seemed to step into the shoes of John Carptenter creating a horror movie that plays with conception of what is really going on it a way that only They Live did before him. This movie played with the cultism of the religious right questions what goes on behind the doors of those who perpetuate hate. It's a brilliant take and well told story about westboro Baptist meets Waco. But that the problem it not that this movie is great or anything he's done before But what came after. I'm not judging him for wanting to make movies filled with his inside jokes, podcast references and personal aqantances. It's that we're missing out on him becoming a great director that this movie showed he could be. I'm happy he's making movies with his kid and I'm glad he's happy. But I'm afraid that people will judge him off this movie and where he went from it. #horror #horrorfan #scarymovie #johngoodman #horrormovie #horrorreview #moviereview

13th film: The Eye 👁👻🎻 • @sayhello2mariah Asian horror is generally very well done and always excites me when I get the opportunity to watch a film from this genre. Unfortunately, I found this film a little underwhelming. There were a few minor creepy parts, but nothing really stood out and the ghosts themselves weren't even threatening. Some of the camera work and music also took me out of the film a bit because some parts felt like they were breaching into romcom territory. I was really looking forward to this one, but this didn't really hit the mark. 5.5/10 • @humilau Cool idea with a great climax, but the sound effects, camera work and production make this pretty cheesy. Some parts watch like a soap opera. The ghosts in this movie aren't that scary, they don't even try to hurt the main character. If you're into Asian horror, this isn't the first one I'd recommend. 5/10

Gravitynaut's Great Spooptober Marathon #13 Dawn of the Dead (1978 ) Of the three films in Romero's classic trilogy, Dawn of the Dead is probably the one about which I have the least to say. Which is not to imply its somehow bad or even inferior, far from it. In fact, it's the most fun of the three. The shopping mall setting leads to many great scenarios, and the gore is abundant but colorful, creating a strange mix of reality and absurdity that makes for some extremely entertaining moments and creative kills. Romero hasn't quite solved the problem with female protagonists yet, but it's still a big step up for the whimpering, vacant characters of the original. If there is a flaw here it's that Dawn might just go on for a tiny bit too long-- inexplicably 27 minutes longer than the other two films in the trilogy. But what it amounts to is still a darn good time all things considered.
“You relive the same day over and over again, you kind of start to see who you really are.” I watched Happy Death Day (2017 ). Director: Christopher Landon, Writer: Scott Lobdell, Stars: Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine. NEW RATING SYSTEM- each movie I rate will have 2 or more scores, usually silly: Pretentious Movie Critic Rating: 3/5 Popcorn Movie For A Good Time Rating: 5/5 Get Some Beers and Talk Through the Movie Trying to Figure it Out Rating: 10/5 (Movie Pass #2 for October, total $29.24 ). Happy Death Day tells the story of Tree Gelbman, who repeats the same day of her life, every day, ending in her getting murdered. This movie is ridiculous, and that’s okay. The movie itself KNOWS it’s ridiculous. Also – it’s not gory at all – there’s a few jump scares, but nothing too bad. Definitely not a horror movie, more like a dark comedy. A combination of Groundhog Day and Edge of Tomorrow, Happy Death Day is having a good time and it’s not worried about what you think about it. The film is 100% self-aware, it plays up it’s tropes (everyone is a suspect, main character realizes she’s horrible, completely impossible ways of dying, every possible college stereotype [stoners, sorority chicks, drinking, secretly gay guys, nerds, nice guys, etc.] ). I knew it was going to be an amazing movie when, in the first 10 minutes, it manages to make EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN THE MOVIE A SUSPECT FOR THE MURDERS. Amazing. It engaged me, it kept me wondering to the very end, and I had a blast. Highly recommended. If you think Blade Runner 2049 is too stuffy and intellectual, pick this one up. #moviereview #happydeathday
Gravitynaut's Great Spooptober Marathon #12 Night of the Living Dead (1968 ) Night of the Living Dead is a landmark film. The best way to watch it is to imagine the kind of waves this thing made back when it was released. I don't believe audiences had ever quite seen the kind of gore-horror Romero's low-budget classic perpetrated before, and its release at the forefront of what would be known as a revolutionary 10-year span for American cinema makes its influence all the more noticeable. As for the film itself I... appreciate the ground it broke, however Night of the Living Dead is far from a masterpiece. The horror elements have aged better than other films from around the time but on the whole much of the film does feel particularly outdated. For starters, all of the women in this movie are either reduced to whimpering helpless piles of nothing, or basically exist to die. The idea that "man is what you should be the most afraid of" is a great concept but didn't always feel the most well materialized in this film. Overall, Night of the Living Dead is a fine enough film, but I can't help but feel as if it would be a far more mind-blowing experience if I were watching it in 1968.
Flatliners (2017 ) - 6/10 I know this movie got alot of hate but you know what i kind of enjoyed it. Is it a great film ? No but its still very enjoyable and i would actually watch it again. Now i haven't seen the original (its on my watchlist ) so i cant say if it was better or worse but like i said i did enjoy this, but it wasn't my favourite from the this year. This was the kind of movie and maybe its me but I've been saying this a lot lately, it felt outdated in a odd way. And what i mean by this is that it could have been made years ago and you couldn't tell a huge difference. But thats not a huge criticism because i guess that could be said for a lot of films. I don't believe this should receive a 4% of Rotten Tomatoes because I've seen a lot worse. You will either hate this movie or enjoy it, for me i enjoyed it. It has a nice cast as it stars Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Kiersey Clemons, and Kiefer Sutherland. Its about five medical students who embark on a daring and dangerous experiment to gain insight into the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life. The bold adventure begins when they trigger near-death experiences by stopping their hearts for short periods of time. As their trials become more perilous, each must confront the sins from their past while facing the paranormal consequences of journeying to the other side. #flatliners #movie #cinema #moviereview #moviemadness6

Everest (2015 ) - 7/10 This was a great movie to look at. I thought it was stunning to watch i thought it looked amazing on Blu-Ray so i wonder what the 4K version looks like. So this was based on a true story and it was a pretty interesting story. At times it had a nice calm mood however most of the time you are on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen to these explorers. Personally i find it really interesting what they men and women did but not only that, but what the risk to do it. I find it crazy that on mount everest there are dead bodies lying around because its impossible to get them back, i just found that crazy. I would recommend this one. It has a really star studded cast as it stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Its about climbers (Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin ) from two expeditions who start their final ascent toward the summit of Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. With little warning, a violent storm strikes the mountain, engulfing the adventurers in one of the fiercest blizzards ever encountered by man. Challenged by the harshest conditions imaginable, the teams must endure blistering winds and freezing temperatures in an epic battle to survive against nearly impossible odds. #everest #movie #cinema #moviereview #moviemadness7
“BLACK PANTHER OFFICAL TRAILER” - 5/5 Really digging the vibe of this movie, bad ass music and he’s a really cool character
Horror #90for90 entry 60. The Sacrament. Right off the bat, it's basically a fictional telling of the Jonestown Massacre but it's still thoroughly riveting despite knowing what's going to happen beforehand. I'm really digging all these new wave and mumblecore directors and writers working hard to keep horror fresh and new. Also, that third act, whew. Grim. 8/10.

This tv one movie portrays the story of Whitney Houstons only daughter Bobbi Kristina. It focuses on how she coped after her mother's passing. There are flashbacks but, the majority of the film as it should, gives krissi the spotlight and , tells the possible events that led to the tragic death of such a young woman never quite healed from the fight she had with whitney before the day she passed on. Anyone that likes nick brown and the role he played in both their lives should not watch this film because it unfurls the validation of why he could very well have caused Bobbi to be reunited with Whitney so soon. #bobbikristina #whitneyhouston #vivicaafox #music #royalty #tragic #drugs #bobbybrown #tvone #TVmovie #moviereview #cantbeartolivewithoutitmoviereview
Only the Brave (2017 ) Movie Review By: @TCLReviews I was planning on going to the movies this weekend and saw that this was playing Saturday Night, October the 14th, at 7pm. It seemed kind of random that this movie had one showing a week before it's release, but thankfully it wasn't just a glitch. It's kind of cool to be one of the only people to have seen this film - I've never seen a film early before. And I literally just went to the regular theater I always go to, it's not like I went to a special advanced screening or anything like that. I'm not trying to brag, this is literally the first time this has happened to me and most likely one of the last if I'm being honest. I hope there will be more sneak previews like this in the future, though. Anyways, I liked Only the Brave and I would recommend not to know the true story/end result beforehand because it may ruin some raw emotional impact that the film achieves quite well. It tells the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and it is a very interesting story. This is a very solid and powerful movie, particularly the ending, which hits you with emotion so hard and with such humanity. If you see this movie (which you should, by the way ) there is no way you will walk away without hearing someone else in the theater crying (which may include/be yourself ). It is pretty well made for the most part, with some great use of scenery, cinematography and particularly investing directing. The writing also keeps you emotionally interested from the very start. Miles Teller gives one of his very best performances and so does Josh Brolin. They both shine and I honestly think they both give Oscar worthy performances. The character growth of Miles Teller’s character was one of great importance and was very well written. Some of the film's big issues, however, come from some flat supporting performances among other things. Jeff Bridges honestly gave kind of an underwhelming performance, something I’ve never seen before. I feel like his character was not well-written like, at all. You can’t really blame Jeff Bridges, he just felt very out of place in my personal opinion. REVIEW CONCLUDED BELOW
HORROR HIGHLIGHT ON HALLOWEEN HOLIDAY #10, #11, #12: XX, Holidays, Tales of Halloween I need to catch up, so why not knock out three decent horror anthologies? XX is the weakest entry on this list. The first short is really creepy and unsettling as we watch a family fall apart for seemingly no reason. The second has a great dark-comedy premise--but an un-ironic, cliche execution. The third is pure mush. The fourth takes a generic story and executes it well. Best of all, each of these is written, directed, and starring women. I saw Holidays almost accidentally right after it came out on VOD. Afterwards, I wanted to tell everyone to see this kickass goliath of shorts. Father and Mother's day are monstrously underwhelming. But everything else is a wicked bundle of freaky surrealism and savage dark-humor. Highly recommended. Finally, we come to Tales of Halloween--my all-time favorite horror anthology. The atmosphere is impeccable. The shorts are incredibly low-budget (like, youtube level ) but that ads to the adorable charm. What really keeps it afloat is its self-aware edge. Like Holidays, Tales has a sly, devious wit and knows how to take a story to 100% by flipping the premise on its head. Not all the shorts are amazing, but every Halloween since I've seen Tales, its sinister gems keep running through my head.

#6: A Bay of Blood (1971 ) I found it completely slow and boring Italian slasher movie. It had some good ideas for kills, but the plot, dialogue, and characters are simply poor. The cinematography is ugly. The editing is also garbage. Best part of this movie was the beginning scene. It only had decent kills, but everything else in this movie sucked. My rating: 3.5/10 #ABayofBlood
31 Days of Halloween & Horror Films: Day 1️⃣3️⃣ - 🍿 HAPPY DEATH DAY - Review 🍿 As of recent the big screen has been lacking slasher horror films. These days the mainstream has been catering to more home invasion & supernatural thrillers. Some even rated PG-13 & arent very good or are atleast coming up short. So now theres a stigma against pg-13 horror films. But this Halloween we have Blumhouse’s Happy Death Day with alot riding on its shoulders. But if The Final Girls taught us anything is that Slashers can have fun, be creepy, emotional, have a good story, a solid cast, decent kills and yes, still be PG-13. So how did this Groundhog Day inspired flick go down this Friday the 13th? Well im truly happy to say that Happy Death Day was a pleasant surprise in all the right ways! Granted, the “repeating your day” gimmick isnt original but its tongue in cheek humor & whodunnit is a fun mystery considering our lead character, Tree (yes thats her name ) is an über bitch that has everyone around her with a reason to kill her. Its not always easy to root for a mean spirited person but theres a vulnerability to Tree & Jessica Rothe does it soo well! Shes the rock of this movie. The rest of the cast just coasts since most of them repeat their lines over & over. As far as the kills/chase scenes go, theyre simple but have a few sly bits to spice it up. Theres not much gore or blood as expected but in all honesty it didn’t really need it. But if i had to make any complaints it would be a stronger ending & a much grander investigation into the mystery, perhaps in the lines of Veronica Mars? But all in all Happy Death Day was a good time. Not as terrifying (love the mask though ) but it has its moments & wore its humor/self awareness on its sleeve. Its a rare but good PG-13 slasher horror film that may open the door for more to come 👶🏻🔪🎂 RATING: B #horror #horrorfilm #horrormovies #31days #halloween #happydeathday #review #moviereview #moviecritic #blumhouse #blumhouseproductions #horrorfan #horrorguy #horrorboy #horrornerd #horrorgeek #gaynerd #gaygeek #horrorlover #horrorfanatic
Killer clowns from outer space was a low budget film made in the 80s that is aware of the fact it's supposed to be low budget and it makes the most out of it any way PLOT It starts out with the teens on the top of the world a place to engage in hard core love beside your best freinds.... Not.. Awkward at all but one night a meteor crashes and two lovers Debbie and mike deside to check it out but there was a old man and his dog who have been already killed a few minutes before and then they go and discover that it is a space ship!!! So after they escape then the clowns go on a rampage killing every one that's not a main character but after that there is a finale but I'm spoiling it go watch it yourself!! #killerklownsfromouterspace #killerclown #killerklowns #bmovie #movie #horror #moviereview #clowns #klowns

Ray, who served time for sexual assault of a minor, has changed his name and is successful businessman. You don't really know what Una wants by trying to find him but I don't think she knows what she wants also. It's a touchy subject but they don't really examine it too much, it's more of the consequences afterwards. Una is now almost 30 and totally lost and damaged while Ray served his time and now moved on, forgetting his past. While I didn't really get into the movie that much, there are fantastic performances from Mara and Mendelsohn. He is a very underrated actor starting to get some notice. Everything that wasn't just them two interacting didn't really work; I thought Una visiting Ray on an important work day was a unnecessary plot device. #Movie #moviereview #indiefilm #supportindiefilm #una #unamovie #rooneymara #benmendelsohn #rizahmed #swen
I didn’t know if I should have rated this season a 9 instead of a 10 because if season 2 is better, what distinction could I give??? An ELEVEN (Pun seriously not intended )?? You know what, that’s what I’ll do if I believe the sequel is better, but as a stand alone film (TV show ), this really deserves a 10. The dialogue is great for the most part. Sometimes, the characters would say weird, choppy lines like: “He’s a good kid.” “What?” “He’s a good kid. Will? He’s a good kid.” That just takes me out of the moment a little bit, as well as some of the cut shots that seem to have two takes. For example, when Joyce slams the phone hard on the wall in the first episode, she’s doing it twice, saying her line twice. Was that supposed to be on purpose? Also, the sixth and seventh episodes were the least exciting in my taste. It just didn’t keep building as fast as the previous episodes. However, that all aside, let’s get to what I LOVED! So many people are rating this show highly because of the nostalgia. For me, ugh ugh. In fact, I haven’t seen Close Encounters, Stand By Me, or The X Files. Therefore, I wasn’t really able to base it on that. I didn’t understand the tropes, but the tropes weren’t confusing if one had never seen any of those films. I still don’t know a lot of them. What stands out in the show, for me, are the character developments and the performances. Millie Bobby Brown is THE best kid actor I have seen to date. The rest were great, too, but Millie delivered! Since Noah Schnapp, who plays the missing Will, is only in the first and last episodes, I wonder if he’ll do a good job in season 2. We haven’t gotten to see his acting chops yet, and in a way, I’m super nervous because I know this upcoming season hinges on his character so much. I love that they are doing that, but let me get back to season one. The production didn’t look cheap, for the most part, and it was truly an original piece of entertainment (the nostalgic homages aside ). I saw the first season 4 complete times, the first episode over 8 times, and I will be ready to review Season 2 when it debuts on October 27. • Show Rating: 10/10 Value Rating: 6/10 •
Halloween Countdown . The Evil Dead, directed by Sam Raimi (1981 ) . It's intriguing, and inspiring I think, to see that some of horror's most influential films often came from humble beginnings. In the case of The Evil Dead, "humble" means shoestring budget exploitation movie, one that may have aged pretty badly, and yet its lack of conventional quality and pure B-movie soul is all a part of it as an experience. The original Evil Dead really isn't a good movie. The acting is compelling while being over the top--though it's remarkably fun going in knowing the cast was stoned for most of the shoot--and the characterizations are basic; the effects are terrible yet undeniably inventive; most of all, it never takes itself so seriously that you can truly fault the movie for any of this. The end result is that it emerges as an unexpectedly entertaining experience in raw, authentic, bloody low-budget B-movie horror. The way the camera is used with such abruptness, with frantic movements and jarring angles, turns the whole thing into a total expression, and elevates what might have been another addition to the heap of forgotten B-movie horror into a cult classic, and the beginning of a most influential and enduring franchise with the King Bruce Campbell as the face of it. And on a side note, Bruce Campbell did a book signing on Sunday at my work, and I got to meet him, shake his hand, and get an autograph--and he's as awesome in person as he is onscreen. #brucecampbell #theevildead #evildead #ashvsevildead #bmovie #samraimi #horrormovie #horrormovies #horrorfilm #horrorfilms #cinema #cinephile #cinephilecommunity #movie #movies #moviebuff #moviecritic #moviereview #moviereviews #film #films #filmbuff #filmcritic #filmreview #filmreviews #filmcommunity #filmisnotdead
